What determines the printing quote?
A short folded brochure, a longer booklet and a large poster require different specifications. Quantity affects the total, but a lower per-copy price is not necessarily a better deal if it comes with paper or finishing that the family did not approve. Compare like with like rather than a single advertised number.
Specify the job before asking for prices
- Brochure or booklet: finished size, exact page count, colour requirements, paper for cover and inner pages, binding and quantity.
- Poster or banner: finished dimensions, material, mounting or eyelets where needed, indoor or outdoor use and quantity.
- All items: proof format, collection or delivery address, required date, applicable taxes and any artwork preparation charge.
Get comparable written quotes
- Write one specification: finished dimensions, pages, quantity, paper or material, colour, finishing and required collection date.
- Send that same specification to each supplier. Ask what is included and what will be charged separately.
